Commissions

Finding Space is currently developing two key artists' commissions from this plan within Dykebar, working with artists Donald Urquhart and Jane Kelly.

Finding Space has also initiated an Environmental Development Group at Dykebar that meets regularly to discuss the strategic development of the healthcare environment within the hospital and beyond.

Environmental Psychologist, Dr Eddie Edgerton (University of Paisley) is leading evaluation work to assess the impact of environmental changes produced by the artist's commissions at the hospital.

Dykebar Hospital

Dykebar Hospital is located in the south side of Paisley and comprises of a mix of red sandstone turn of the century Victorian villas and additional buildings built during the 1970s. The hospital catchment area comprises a mixture of urban and rural communities embracing some areas of significant deprivation and social exclusion.

Dykebar has been undergoing a period of significant change, and has recently revised its approach to healthcare provision and communications. The hospital was recently successful in winning the national 'Team of the Year' award in recognition of its Quality of Life achievements.
